Love You to the Bone is the result of research on the subjects of the colonization of the body, material and intellectual insecurity based on Pier Paolo Pasolini's ultimate film Salò, or the 120 Last Days of Sodom (1975. The project has been developed during Jesus' residency at Künstlerhaus Bethanien (Berlin), and explores the ways in which bodies and subjects are produced, appropriated and colonized by photographic and other image creating devices. The artist set out to look for the actors who figured as the slaves in Pasolini's film-testament and through the images he recovered and re-appropriated their looked at bodies as waste material.
As a result he encountered and discussed with the actors Umberto Chessari and Bruno Musso whose bodies are omnipresent in exhibition. Love You to the Bone is a visual vortex in which the body creates images and the images create bodies at the same altering and hurting them. Chessari and Musso attest the violent way in which devices that create and capture have a direct impact on the bodies and matter that lead to intangible as well as physical and recognizable consequences through visual mechanisms.
